Long Fall

Introducing "Long Fall" this is my prototype for a 2D Platformer in Unreal Engine 5. This game is highly inspired by games like "Getting Over It" and "Jump King". The player will play as Grumps a little goblin that wants to reach the top of the mountain, but in order to achive this goal he will need to overcome some difficult obstacles and be pretty accurate with his jumps. In this game you will need to try again and again in order to achive the goal: Reaching the END.

  • Designed and built in paper the different segments of the game.

  • Designed all the structures and created the basic template for all the game.

  • Designed the different pickups and placement on the level.

  • Designed different hazards that you will encounter, when and what is the challenge for the player.

  • Designed different encounters and different elements that the player can interact with.

  • Designed the different functionality of Grumps.

  • Created the different dialogs and the different ways to interact with the player and brak the 4th wall.

  • Modified the values of the player and deleted some funcionality to implement it when collect certain pickup.

  • Iterated on different platforms and its different mechanics.

  • Created a Teleport Mechanic that continues with the momentum of the player, making it a good tool to move around the map.

  • Designed the different segments where the player will reach the end.

  • Created NPCs where the player can talk and understand a bit more of the background of the game itself.
